AI data centers are not just facilities for housing servers. They are high-value
security zones where AI models, training data, GPU and NPU computing
infrastructure, operating consoles, and power and cooling systems are
concentrated. The growth of generative AI and cloud demand is also increasing
the number of data centers and their power consumption in Korea. This shows
that data centers are becoming critical digital infrastructure, beyond traditional
IT facilities (KB Kookmin Bank, 2025; Yonhap News Agency, 2025).
